To do it yourself you should drop your audio file inside here and change any instances of "cut_liszt in the code to be named what your audio file is. (If you cannot find this folder click the folder with the up arrow above piano_transcription and look for a folder named content. Here you can see an audio and midi file pre-loaded for the example, in this case a liszt piece. You are correct the files folder is what you need. That's pretty much the whole of what I'd want. I'd love it if there was a way to get these 8 pieces analyzed. I am very excited by the demo of this bytedance system. It really is not up to the task, claiming there are notes where there are not, and missing a lot of notes that are there. Was it also supposed to generate a MIDI file? And, if so, is it possible to insert my piano audio file into that app and get a MIDI file back?īottom line, I bought Melodyne Studio hoping I could transcribe 8 solo piano pieces I recorded years ago. I saw it generated a spectrograph and other images. I also went to the Google colab hosted app and ran it. Have you set that up? If so, can you point me to any description of the requirements and how to do it? I do not know technically how to turn the GitHub material into an app I can run piano audio files through and generate their MIDI data. It looks really interesting! I want to use it! But I am a bit lost as to how. I'm looking for a command-line solution, too, but these work really well.Click to expand. Thanks so much for pointing this out. Method: open wav file, it auto-analyses by default or select "Analyse Now", then "Export Note Data" allows midi export. The other, more simple option is called "Tony" (get it? tone-y?) available from With this layer active, export using "Export Annotation Layer". The method is this: You open a wav file, select the transformation (play it if you want) - this creates a new "layer" (each layer is shown as a tab). The two I found most effective were "pYin: Notes" and "Polyphonic Transcription ". One is Sonic Visualiser ( ), which is a deep (complex) program that, when the Vamp plugin package is installed, includes a few "transformations" (analytical operations) which include export to midi. A little research (half of that research was a comment on this page) led me to two superb solutions.
